This year's TTC Knitalong will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
HOW TO REGISTER
Registration costs $10, and all our proceeds will be going to Sistering, an amazing charity group that helps a lot of women in need. Payment is cash only to the team captain the day of the TTC Knitalong. Please read the "not so small print" below to see what this includes and what it doesn't!
To register, please email email@example.com and include the following information:
1. Your full name
2. Your first choice team (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue or Purple - PLEASE NOTE that some routes are different this year -- please double check the list below to make sure you're going where you want!)
3. Your second choice team direction
4. Your email address
5. Optional: your blog and/or ravelry details
Registration will open on Tuesday May 22nd and run until the teams are full OR until midnight on Thursday, July 12, 2012.
Last year's new routes were a HUGE success -- more people got to visit more yarn stores, which is a win all around! We've mixed it up again this year and even added a new team which means we can accommodate even more knitters, bring more people to each yarn store and hopefully raise even more money for our amazing charity organization, Sistering.
These new colour-coded teams all start at the same time in six different yarn stores around Toronto. They'll then follow a set route that takes them to 4 different yarn stores and stop for lunch en-route, all ending up at the end of the day at the Rivoli for dinner, a beverage and PRIZES!! There are at least two teams visiting every single store (some more than that) so you should have lots of choices of which stores you want to get to. Be sure to check the lists below to verify which stores each route will visit.

We've kept the simplified schedule this year and allowed generous travel time, plenty of knitting AND shopping time at every store on each route. There are scheduled lunch stops on each route and knitters will have some choices of where to get their food.
11:00am - All teams start at their yarn store
11:00am-5:00pm - Each team will follow their scheduled route
5:00pm - All teams gather at the Rivoli for PRIZES!
THE (NOT SO) SMALL PRINT
Registration does not include the cost of transit -- you are responsible for bringing your own metropass, daypass or tokens. TTC day passes currently cost $10.50, and if you sign up with a friend you can share this pass with one other adult. Fare details including prices can be found here on the ttc website.
No personal information will be published online other than ravelry user names and/or blogs if you choose to share that information. We don't share our mailing list, either.
Group Sign Ups
If you are signing up with a friend please indicate this so we can make sure you end up in the same group. If there are several of you trying to be on the same team please email us EARLY. It gets really challenging to accommodate this as the teams fill up.
Once you register, you will be sent a confirmation email within 48 hours. If you don't hear back in this time, please email us again just to be sure we got it!
Team assignments may take a bit longer but you will get another email that details your route schedule and team leaders within 1 week of registering.
Lunches are scheduled throughout the day at local restaurants convenient to the route. Meal costs are not included in the cost of registration. We have tried to schedule meal-times at locations that have multiple options and price-points for food in case you have specialized dietary requirements. If this is you we ask that you email us in advance so we can make sure you end up on a team with maximum flexibility, but its also a good idea to mention it to your team captains the day of!
Dinner is optional at the Rivoli - you can expect to pay $5-12 for an appetizer, $10-15 for a sandwich or main, $2-3 for a soft-drink, $6-7 for a beer, which is pretty typical for a downtown restaurant. We wish it could be less so you have more money for yarn, but the food there is pretty darn good and we do love beer :)
If you are unable to attend, please notify us as early as possible. Anyone who cancels less than 48 hours before the start of the event will be wait-listed for the next TTC Knitalong.
We welcome participants of all ability levels. Unfortunately, our team captains are already very busy running the teams and are not available to help out. If you need assistance we require that you to bring a friend or companion to help you. This person will be welcome to participate fully in the TTC KAL without paying the registration fee.
